Privacy Policy

Note: The Terms, Policy, or Agreement are available in Indonesian and English. In case of any discrepancies between the translations, the Indonesian version shall prevail.


This Privacy Policy describes how DiLan collects, uses, and discloses your information. We also outline your options regarding the use of personal information, including how to opt-out of certain uses of your information as well as how to access and update your information. Here are some key definitions that will help you understand our terms and this Privacy Policy:

i. PT DiLan Teknologi Indonesia, and our relevant affiliates are referred to as "DiLan," "we," "us," and "our."

ii. Our public website, including dilan.id, is referred to as the "Website."

iii. DiLan's online software-as-a-service platform, including related APIs provided by DiLan, along with all related mobile and desktop applications, are collectively referred to as the "Services."

A. Information We Collect

We collect information through three methods: when you provide it directly to us, when you use our Website or Services, and when we receive it from other sources. A more detailed explanation is outlined below.

1. Information You Provide to Us

  • a. Account Creation. When you create an account or use the Services, we collect information such as your name, email address, password, team role, company or institution, and optional profile photo.
  • b. Payment Information. When subscribing to the Services, you are required to provide payment information such as financial account details and shipping addresses. Payments are processed by third-party payment service providers on our behalf. We may receive related payment information, such as billing addresses and transaction details, but do not store payment information directly within the Services.
  • c. Communication with Us. We collect information such as your email address, phone number, or mailing address when you request information about the Services, register for newsletters, seek support, or communicate with us. We may also collect the content of messages or attachments you send and other information you choose to provide.
  • d. Interactive Features. We provide interactive features such as forums, blogs, chat services, and social media pages. Be aware that information you share through these features can be viewed and used by third parties for their own purposes. Thus, content you provide through these interactive features is considered 'public.'
  • e. Surveys. We may invite you to participate in surveys. If you agree, you will be asked to provide contact information and other relevant personal information.
  • f. Job Applications. We may post job vacancies on the Website or Services. If you submit an application with a CV or cover letter, we collect and use that information to assess your qualifications.
  • g. Sweepstakes or Contests. We may conduct sweepstakes and contests. Contact information you provide may be used to notify you about results and for promotional purposes.
  • h. Conferences, Trade Shows, and Other Events. We may attend events where we collect contact information from individuals interacting with or showing interest in our Services.

2. Information Collected Automatically

  • a. Automatic Data Collection. We track certain information when you visit and interact with our Website or Services. This information may include IP addresses, user settings, MAC addresses, cookie identifiers, mobile internet service providers, mobile ads, unique identifiers, browser details, operating systems or devices, location information, internet service providers, pages visited, links clicked, and the frequency and duration of activities. The information we collect can be linked to accounts and devices.
  • b. Cookies, Pixel Tags/Web Tags, and Analytics Information. We and third parties may use cookies, pixel tags, local storage, and other technologies to automatically collect information via the Website or Services. These technologies are small data files placed on your device that allow us and our partners to record certain information whenever you interact with our Services.   • c. Analytics. We use third-party service providers to collect and process analytics and other information on the Website or Services. These providers use technologies to collect and store data analytics. They have their own privacy policies governing the use of this data, and we do not have access or control over the usage of cookies or tracking technologies by third parties.   • d. Advertising. When using our Website or Services, third-party technology partners may place technologies on your browser to collect information. This information is used to present relevant content and advertisements to you while browsing the internet. To learn more and control cookies for customized ads, you can visit the available Opt-Out links. We do not control these opt-out links and are not responsible for the reliability of these mechanisms. You may also opt-out of certain online advertising activities by following the instructions under "Your Choices" and "Your Privacy Rights." Note that even if you opt-out, you may still see ads on our Website or Services; however, these ads will not be customized based on your online behavior over time.

B. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for various business purposes, including:

1. Providing the Requested Services or Information

  • a. Fulfilling our contract with you;
  • b. Processing your payment (processed and stored by third-party payment processors on our behalf) and serving your purchase orders;
  • c. Providing access to certain areas, functionalities, and features of our Services;
  • d. Responding to customer or technical support requests;
  • e. Identifying and communicating with you, including providing newsletters and marketing materials;
  • f. Responding to inquiries, comments, and other requests; and
  • g. Managing your information.

2. Administrative and Communication Purposes

  • a. Preventing and prosecuting activities that may be prohibited or illegal;
  • b. Complying with our legal obligations under applicable laws in Indonesia;
  • c. Enforcing our agreements;
  • d. Authenticating and verifying individual identities;
  • e. Ensuring internal quality control and safety;
  • f. Communicating with you about your account, activities on our Services, and changes to the Privacy Policy;
  • g. Conducting audits;
  • h. Pursuing legitimate interests, such as research and development (including marketing research), network and information security, and fraud prevention;
  • i. Developing new products and services and improving our Services;
  • j. Measuring interest and engagement in our Services, including analyzing your usage of the Services; and
  • k. Sending communications about new product features, promotions, strategic partners, and other news about DiLan.

3. Marketing Products and Services

Consistent with applicable legal requirements, we may use your information to tailor and provide content and advertisements to you. If you have questions about our marketing practices or if you wish to opt-out of using your information for marketing purposes, you may contact us as outlined below.

We may use personal information for other purposes clearly disclosed to you at the time you provide the personal information or with your consent.

5. Use of De-identified and Aggregated Information

We may use de-identified and/or aggregated information that can no longer be reasonably linked to you or your device from the information we collect. De-identified and/or aggregated information is not subject to this Privacy Policy, and we may use and disclose such information in various ways, including for research, internal analysis, analytics, and other legally permissible purposes.

C. Disclosing Your Information

We may disclose your information to the following categories of third parties:

1. Service Providers

We may disclose information we collect about you to our third-party service providers. The categories of service providers to whom we disclose your information include providers for: (a) the provision of Services; (b) the provision of other requested information, products, and services, including Non-DiLan Services as described in the Agreement; (c) marketing and advertising; (d) payment and transaction processing; (e) Customer and User Service activities; (f) IT and related services; and (g) fraud prevention and Customer and User authentication.

2. Business Partners

At your request, we may share information with business partners to provide products or services that may interest you. We may also share information with business partners jointly offering products or services with us.

3. Affiliates

We may disclose information to our affiliated entities, which are under common ownership and/or control with us.

4. Advertising Partners

We do not disclose or use your information to advertise third-party products or services through the Services. However, as detailed in the section 'Information Collected Automatically,' we may share your information with third-party advertising partners. This aims to market our Services and expand our Customer and User base, such as through targeted marketing about our Services on third-party platforms. For more information, please see 'D. We may disclose your information to other third parties, including Customers and/or other Users, in the following situations:

5. Shared Access Services

When you submit information in Services accessible by others, that information may be visible to other Customers and Users within the same or connected Services. For instance, your information may appear in notes or reminders within the Services that are viewable by other Customers and Users collaborating with you. Additionally, your email address or photo may be displayed along with your Services profile to other Customers and Users collaborating with you on those Services.

6. Sharing Content with Friends

Our Services may allow you to provide information about your friends and enable you to forward or share certain content with friends or colleagues, such as email invitations. You agree to provide information about friends or colleagues only with their consent.

7. Disclosure to Protect Us or Others

We may access, preserve, and disclose any information we store associated with you to external parties if we, in good faith, believe that doing so is necessary or appropriate to: (a) comply with law enforcement requests or national security and applicable legal process in Indonesia, such as a court order or subpoena; (b) protect your, our, or others' rights, property, or safety; (c) enforce our policies or contracts; or (d) assist in the investigation and prosecution of suspected or actual illegal activities.

8. Disclosure in Case of Merger, Sale, or Other Asset Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale or purchase of some or all of our assets, or transition of Services to another provider, your information may be sold or transferred as part of such a transaction as permitted by law and/or contract.

D. Your Choices

1. General

You may have the right to opt-out or withdraw from certain uses of your information. Where you have consented to the processing of your information for specific purposes, you can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us as described below. Even if you opt-out, we may still collect and use your information for other purposes not based on your consent.

2. Email Communications

If you receive an email from us and no longer wish to receive future emails, you can opt-out by using the unsubscribe link found at the bottom of the email. Note that you will continue to receive transaction-related emails regarding the products or Services you have requested. We may also send certain non-promotional communications about us and our Services, and you will not be able to opt-out of those communications (e.g., communications regarding the Services or updates to this Privacy Policy).

3. Mobile Devices

We may send push notifications through our applications. You can opt-out of receiving these types of communications at any time by adjusting the settings on your mobile device. With your consent, we may also collect precise location information if you use our applications. You can opt-out of this collection by adjusting your mobile device settings.

E. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and in accordance with applicable laws in Indonesia, you may have the following rights:

  1. Accessing Information: Access information about you subject to the legal requirements. In certain cases, you may also be entitled to receive or have your electronic information transferred to another party.
  2. Rectifying Information: Request correction of your information if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
  3. Deleting Information: Request deletion of your information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  4. Restricting or Objecting: Request restriction or object to the processing of your information.

If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact us as outlined below. We will process such requests in accordance with applicable laws, and in certain circumstances, we may need to deny your request in whole or in part (for instance, if we have a legal obligation to retain your information for certain purposes). To protect your privacy, we will take steps to verify your identity before fulfilling your request, such as requiring you to send your request through your account. You have the right to submit the request through an authorized agent, but we will require the agent to provide written permission from you, and we may need to verify your identity before processing the agent's request.

Depending on your residence, you may have the right to appeal our response to your request. In such cases, we will inform you of the right to appeal and the appeal process.

F. Data Retention

We retain the information we receive as described in this Privacy Policy for as long as you use our Services or as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to provide our Services, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable laws in Indonesia.

G. Security of Your Information

We take steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Unfortunately, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you provide to us. By using the Services or providing information to us, you agree that we may communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy, and administrative issues relating to your use of the Services. If we become aware of a breach of our security systems, we may attempt to notify you electronically by posting a notice on the Services, sending an email, or by other means as required by applicable law.

H. Third-Party Websites/Applications

Our Services may contain links to other websites/applications, and other websites/applications may reference or link to our Services. We do not control these third-party services. We encourage our Customers and Users to read the privacy policies of every website/application they interact with. We do not endorse, screen, or approve, and are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such other websites/applications. Accessing these third-party websites/applications is at your own risk.

I. Children's Information

Our Services are directed to a general audience and are not intended for children. If we become aware that we have collected data from children under the age requiring parental consent without valid consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it promptly.

J. Data Privacy Framework

In Indonesia, personal data protection is comprehensively governed by Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (PDP Law). The PDP Law aims to protect individual rights in the context of the increasing use of information and communication technology and to ensure the security of personal data managed by various entities, both public institutions and private companies. As a technology service provider, DiLan understands the importance of compliance with this regulation and is fully committed to adhering to every aspect of the PDP Law. Our commitment encompasses several key principles, including:

  1. Explicit Consent. We ensure that every action of collecting and processing personal data is always based on the clear and explicit consent of the personal data owner. This means we will always seek your permission before using your personal information for any purpose.
  2. Transparency. DiLan is committed to always clearly and comprehensively informing you about the purposes of data collection, methods of use, and potential disclosure of personal data.
  3. Security. We implement security measures to protect your personal data. This includes safeguarding against unauthorized access, preventing misuse, and protecting against loss or data breaches.
  4. Right to Access and Control. In accordance with the PDP Law, we provide data owners with the right to access, correct, and even delete their personal data that we hold, as long as it does not conflict with our legal obligations.

We view the protection of personal data not only as a legal obligation but also as an ethical responsibility towards the trust you have placed in us.

K. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time at our sole discretion. If there are material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you as required by applicable laws in Indonesia. You understand and agree that you will be deemed to have accepted the updated Privacy Policy if you continue to use the Services after the new Privacy Policy takes effect.
